Alcock/Hood Year 2025 Curabitur felis erat Our Pictures Through The Year 2025

Dear Family and Friends,

As the year draws to a close, I find myself reflecting on the memories we’ve shared and the changes we’ve experienced together. This year has brought both sorrow and joy.

It is with deep sadness that I share the news that Joy passed away in March 2025 from Multiple System Atrophy. After more than 36 wonderful years of marriage, Joy’s warmth and spirit continue to inspire us every day. She was the heart of our family, always gathering us for family get togethers, filling our home with laughter and love. We miss her dearly, but as she would have wished, our family continues to grow and thrive.

Family Updates

Anna’s Family: Anna’s children are thriving. Lily is working as a supervisor at Bill’s Restaurant in Newbury, and Ella is excelling at Theale Green. This summer, Ella starred in the musical "School of Rock," impressing the audience with her performance. Next year, she will take the lead role in Les Misérables.

Jeff and Becky’s Family: Their daughter Avie may be moving to Lithuania to live with her boyfriend, Elsie continues to do well at Little Heath.

Nick and Vicky’s Family: Both boys are progressing well at school and shine on the football pitch every Saturday.

James and Kelly’s Family: Lyla has just started studying Psychology at Bristol University. The three boys—Louis, Jesse, and Kitt—play football every Saturday. Jesse also enjoys fishing and often catches more than I do!

Caroline and Jamie’s Family: Walter has started infant school and is really enjoying it. Evan is at Theale Green, learning to play the guitar, and will also appear in Les Misérables.

Making New Memories

In the spirit of making new memories, I’ve enjoyed some recent travels. I took a short cruise to Northern Spain in July, spent a week in North Wales before crossing over to Dublin, and had two wonderful trout fishing breaks on Exmoor.

As we look forward to the coming year, I am grateful for the love and support of our family and friends. Joy’s legacy lives on in each of us, and I know she would be proud of how we continue to care for one another and create new memories together.

Wishing you all a peaceful Christmas and a joyful New Year.

With love, John
